About the Project

Microlife is an exhibition that presents an amazing journey through the world of microscopic creatures to discover the complexity and diversity of the invisible world. This Expografic production, which received support from the Department of Research, Science and Environment, Obra Social “la Caixa”, invites us to travel on this universe, which is located halfway between science and art, between art and beauty. The photographs on which the exhibition is based are the graphic work of the photographer and biologist Ruben Duro. The photographer has explored the microscopic world through the technique of dark field microscopy, obtaining moving images of amazing individuals.

Our involvement consisted of the concept and production of the exhibition tables. The tables are inspired by the organic forms of microscopic organisms and function as light boxes. In the technical development of the tables, we used a parametric definition that takes maximum advantage of the material to avoid waste and cutting time. They are made of ice acrylic and  aluminium composite.

The traveling exhibition has been presented at the Museum of Science CosmoCaixa Madrid, and Museum of Science CosmoCaixa Barcelona.
